The Warsaw Chamber Opera announces auditions for the position of:

TUTOR – PIANIST

The auditions will take place on 16th April 2025 at the Theatre of the Warsaw Chamber Opera (al. Solidarności 76b, 00-145 Warszawa).

In order to participate in the audition, please send an application form by email to: przesluchania@operakameralna.pl 

by 8th April 2025, no later than 12:00 PM, including:

  • candidate’s CV,
  • contact details,
  • completed and signed application form – Appendix No. 1 to the Regulations (downloadable from the Warsaw Chamber Opera website) with the mandatory clause concerning consent to the processing of personal data, as follows:

 “I consent to the processing of my personal data by the Warsaw Chamber Opera, located at 31 Obrońców Street in Warsaw, contained in my recruitment application form for the purposes of the current recruitment” 

The subject line of the email must include the candidate’s first and last name as well as the note: “Audition: TUTOR – PIANIST”.

 

Audition programme:

  1. Performance (piano playing with vocal parts) of the following excerpts of the W. A. Mozart’s operas:

Le nozze di Figaro – Finale of Act II
Die Zauberflöte – Quintet Wie? Wie? Wie? Ihr an diesem Schreckensort?

  1. Presentation of a freely chosen solo piano piece of an advanced level of difficulty.
  2. Sight-reading of excerpts from piano reductions (opera and cantata-oratorio repertoire composed before 1840).
  3. Working with a singer and a conductor (sheet music will be provided to qualified candidates by 15 April 2025).

The Warsaw Chamber Opera reserves the right to make a preliminary selection of candidates based on the submitted documentation.

VIOLA TUTTI (replacement contract)

The auditions will take place at the Warsaw Chamber Opera in Warsaw, ul. Obrońców 31, 03-933  on January 21, 2025.

Audition program:

 To be chosen by the candidate:

  1. C. Stamitz: Viola Concerto in D major: first movement (without cadenza)
  2.  W. A. Mozart: Duo for Violin and Viola, K.423/424: first movement*

Two contrasting movements to choose from the following solo pieces:

  1.  J. S. Bach: Suites for cello solo
  2.  J. S. Bach: Sonatas and partitas for solo violin

Orchestral Excerpts (Viola):

1. J. S. Bach: Orchestral Suite No.1 in C major, BWV 1066: Overture (bars; 17 – 114)
2. G. F. Haendel: Giulio Cesare HWV 17, Overture (Allegro)
3.  W. A. Mozart:

–  Adagio and Fugue in C minor, K.546 (Fuga, bars: 53 -71)
–  Symphony No. 35 K. 385 “Haffner” (first movement)
–  Symphony No.40 in G minor, K.550 (fourth movement)
–  G. Rossini: Il barbiere di Siviglia: Overture

 

* The Warsaw Chamber Opera does not provide a violinist for duets

REPETITEUR – PIANIST

The auditions will take place on September 16, 2024, at the Warsaw Chamber Opera Theater (al. Solidarności 76b, 00-145 Warsaw).

To participate in the auditions, please send an application by September 2, 2024, by 12:00 PM to the email address: przesluchania@operakameralna.pl containing:

  • The candidate’s CV,
  • Contact details,
  • A completed and signed application form – Addendum No. 1 to the Regulations (available on the website) with the mandatory clause regarding consent to the processing of personal data, as follows:

“I consent to the processing by the Warsaw Chamber Opera, located in Warsaw at ul. Obrońców 31, of personal data contained in my recruitment application for the purposes of the current recruitment.”

In the subject line of the email, please include your name and surname along with the note “Auditions REPETITEUR – PIANIST.”

Audition program:

  1. Performance (playing the piano and singing vocal parts) of the following excerpts from W. A. Mozart’s operas:
    • Le nozze di Figaro – finale of Act II
    • Die Zauberflöte – quintet Wie? Wie? Wie? Ihr an diesem Schreckensort?
  2. Presentation of any solo piano piece of advanced difficulty.
  3. Sight-reading excerpts of piano reductions (opera and cantata-oratorio repertoire created before 1840).
  4. Working with a singer and conductor (sheet music will be provided to qualified candidates by September 10, 2024).

The Warsaw Chamber Opera reserves the right to preliminarily select candidates based on the submitted documentation.
