The opening event of the 12th edition of the Baroque Opera Festival will be the “Eden” concert, performed by world-renowned star Joyce DiDonato (a laureate of countless awards including 3 Grammy Awards and 11 Grammy nominations) and the Il Pomo d’Oro orchestra, with whom the artist released the album “Eden”. Opera superstar Joyce DiDonato has long been an artist dedicated to creating and initiating projects that challenge and stimulate audiences, going beyond the physical limits of the concert hall.
EDEN is Joyce DiDonato’s latest multi-faceted initiative, combining music, drama and education to address questions about our individual relationship with Nature.
“With each passing day”, writes Joyce DiDonato, “I trust more and more in the perfect balance, astonishing mystery and guiding force of the natural world around us, how much Mother Nature has to teach us. EDEN is an invitation to return to our roots and to explore whether or not we are connecting as profoundly as we can to the pure essence of our being, to create a new EDEN from within and plant seeds of hope for the future”. The Eden album was nominated for a Grammy Award in the “Best Classical Solo Vocal Album” category.
DiDonato performs on the world’s greatest opera stages: Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Houston Grand Opera, San Francisco Opera and Santa Fe Opera, as well as in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Geneva, London, Milan, Munich, Paris, Tokyo, Vienna and Berlin. She gives recitals and concerts at London’s Wigmore Hall, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, New York’s Carnegie Hall and New York Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Orchestre National de Paris and others.
